Paper Impregnation & Coating Lines

EB Paper Impregnation Line

EB paper impregnation production line has many advantages over traditional paper impregnation production line. It is mainly a decorative material that uses electron beam (EB) curing technology to cure coatings on plastic films and printed paper. It does not require solvents and avoids pollution caused by solvent volatilization. And it speeds up production, reduces costs, and increases output. In addition, EB coating can protect the substrate and printed patterns, provide wear resistance, yellowing resistance, and customizable surface effects such as gloss or matte effects.

Impregnation Principles

  1. Impregnation process: In the impregnation machine, the raw material is immersed in a liquid medium, which is used to form a complete surface coating by means of pneumatic components, hot oil tanks, stirring paddles, and temperature control devices.
  2. E-beam pre-curing: The impregnated paper is pre-cured using EB electron beam curing technology. High-energy electron beam streams act on unsaturated molecules to form reactive free radicals, which trigger the polymerization of unsaturated resins and monomers to form a three-dimensional crosslinked network, thus achieving rapid curing.
  3. Coating process: The upper and lower coating rollers of the coating machine quantitatively apply glue to both sides of the web. The coating rollers adopt anilox rollers to control the uniformity of coating volume and glue distribution. The tightly connected threaded rollers make the glue evenly distributed and smooth the surface grooves, and the leveling rollers further flatten the coated surface to improve the surface quality of the coil.
  4. Drying process: Finally, the coated paper is dried by baking, showering, etc. to make the coating smoother and more durable, thus obtaining the final product
